The time I had 50 apples in my refrigerator

10.09.2013

As you may, or may not know, my parents were in town from Texas this week. It was amazing and I wish they were still here! I have been waiting for them to come up here and it was the perfect week. More in depth details to come.

Our most favorite experience this weekend was apple picking. None of us had ever been, and I think we looked like kids on Christmas morning. Way more excited than the locals, that's for sure.
We ended up picking 50...yes you read that right... 50 apples.

Now what the heck is a gal to do with 50 apples? This is where I need your help! What is your favorite apple recipe? Be sure to share and you may see it up on the blog soon.

  2. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/tyler-florence/the-ultimate-caramel-apple-pie-recipe/index.html

This pie will knock the pants off of anyone! The caramel sauce is a little tricky, so you might look up another red wine caramel sauce to get it to work! MAKE LOTS OF PIES! Give them to your coworkers, and friends, take them to church, etc.... that'll use 'em up fast! :) And it's delicious, and everyone loves a homemade pie!

  5. So, I don't have any super creative or amazing apple recipes :(. BUT, y'all look super adorable in these pictures! It looks like y'all had a blast, and I know you just adored the time with your parents! And, I'm super jealous that it actually looks like FALL! It's cooler here in Texas, but it still feels like summer...

  6. The easiest and tastiest (and relatively healthy) thing I do with apples is this: Dice up the apple into bite-size pieces. Take a heaping tablespoon of peanut butter and put it in the microwave for about 30 seconds, full power. It turns it into liquidy golden goodness. Then drizzle over your apple and top with chocolate chips and pecans (I use milk chocolate AND white chocolate because I like to feel fancy). Then eat. And moan in bliss. It almost tastes like a caramel apple without the mess. Thank Pinterest for this recipe. Haha!

  13. We just moved to New York this past Summer, and after living in season-less Florida, I couldn't wait to experience Fall up here! We also went apple picking and had no clue what to do with all of the apples. I said I was going to make a pie, but not all apples are ideal for pies, so honestly, I just ended up eating them all with a bit of peanut butter and some chocolate chips. It makes for a great snack or dessert. We only have four apples left from when we went picking, I'm wondering if I can convince my husband to take me out one more time before the season is over!
